About my owner

Let me introduce my owner – Petra Holmström. For being 200 years old (or close to) she looks pretty young. She tells me she is only 36 years old, but I have a hard time believing her. Anyway, Petra has RRP (Recurrent Respiratory Papillomatosis) and she has had that since she was 11 years old. She has had many, many operations on her throat. She says it is something close to 200 operations so far.

Petra has written a hospital diary on the Internet about her operations during the last year. It has been a tough time for her since she has had problems with a lot of scarring in her throat from all the operations. For the past year she has had a plastic tube in her throat so that she can breathe. But now they have been operating on her in a special way so that she can get rid of the tube after the summer.

Petra lives with her fiancé, Ben, who comes from Canada. Petra says she imported Ben, but I think Ben was exported since he is such a goof and the other Canadians probably did not want him there any more. But he is OK, he takes very good care of Petra when she is in the hospital and he is a very good cook, even though he does not know how to make good muffins.

We have not been to Canada yet, but hopefully when Petra feels better we are going to visit Ben's parents and family. I know I will be allowed to come with them, but I am not sure if I need a passport or not. Petra is afraid of flying so she needs someone like me to calm her down. It is a long flight, it will probably take two weeks, if not more. Petra just came in the room and saw me writing about the flight over to Canada. She says it will not take more than a total of 14 hours from Luleå to Toronto. I guess I did mix up hours with days when I said two weeks.

What else can I tell about my owner? Oh yes, she is really good at computers and Ben and she have a whole room filled with computer stuff. I thought she was going to give me my own room (so I could fit all my toys there) but she said that the computers would be very sad if they did not have their own room. But what about me, I can be sad too, but Petra says I am so small I do not need a big room like that. After all I sleep in her pocket.
